Transcribe is a web application operated by Jocelyn Remington. It allows users to upload or photograph handwritten notes, transcribe the handwriting into typed text, and optionally save that text into the user's own Google Docs account.
Information We Access
When you use Google sign-in, the app may access:
- Basic profile information associated with your Google account
- Permission to create and edit Google Docs you request the app to create
- Permission to create files in Google Drive using the limited `drive.file` scope
When you use note transcription, the app processes:
- The image you upload or capture
- The transcription text generated from that image
How Information Is Used
- To authenticate you with Google
- To create a Google Doc you explicitly request
- To insert your transcription into that Google Doc
- To provide handwriting transcription functionality
Data Storage
The app does not permanently store Google account data on its servers. Uploaded note images and transcription text are processed only as needed to complete transcription and document creation unless otherwise stated.
Data Sharing
User data is not sold. User data is not shared with third parties except as needed to operate the app's core features, such as Google APIs for authentication and document creation and the transcription provider used to process uploaded note images.
User Control
You may stop using the app at any time. You may also revoke Google account access through your Google account permissions settings.
Security
Reasonable steps are taken to protect transmitted data, but no method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
